As custom made furniture becomes more popular, many clients have begun to have some questions about the environmental protection issues of custom built furniture, and now we will share the eight most common answers to the environmental protection concerns of bespoke furniture. 1. Will the amount of formaldehyde be exacerbated in the hot summer? There are some formaldehyde testing institutions on the market claiming that summer is the most serious season for formaldehyde volatilization. For every 1 °C rise in room temperature, formaldehyde volatilized at wooden furniture and flooring will increase the concentration of formaldehyde in indoor air by 0.15-0.37 times. Is it really? In the case of exacerbating the release of formaldehyde, is it more likely to exceed formaldehyde? The release of formaldehyde is a slow process. Hot weather or transpiration does accelerate the rate of formaldehyde release. However, as long as the custom furniture products meet the corresponding environmental standards, even in the summer, there is generally no situation where the indoor formaldehyde exceeds the standard due to the increased formaldehyde emission. Of course, considering that many aspects of the decoration may involve formaldehyde, it is better to keep the ventilation of the newly renovated house. 2. Does formaldehyde have a cumulative additive effect in a closed space? A single panel does not exceed the environmental protection standard, but if the panel is used in large areas of full house, will there be a cumulative effect of superposition, and eventually the formaldehyde content in the indoor air will exceed the standard? At present, the formaldehyde content standard of the custom built furniture industry adopts the formaldehyde emission of a single panel as the evaluation standard. However, the international authorities have considered the cumulative superposition effect of formaldehyde when formulating the corresponding environmental standards for plates, and most of them do not belong to confined spaces at home. Ventilation and air circulation will reduce the concentration of formaldehyde in the air. Therefore, as long as the house uses all custom furniture products that meet the national environmental standards, there is no need to worry too much about the formaldehyde problem in space. What needs to be especially reminded that formaldehyde will be released in the indoor space, in addition to the panel, as well as paint, flooring and fabrics, so you can not simply use the indoor air test to measure whether a piece of furniture will exceed the standard. To prevent formaldehyde from exceeding the standard in indoor air, it is necessary not only to select high-standard environmentally-friendly panels, but also to ensure that other products comply with national environmental standards. 3. Does the custom panel furniture really have a short service life? Compared with custom solid wood furniture, people often feel that the environmental protection of custom panel furniture is more prone to problems, and the panel furniture is not as durable as solid wood furniture. Is it ture? How long can custom panel furniture last? In fact, it has a lot to do with the environment in which it is applied. Long-term wet environment does affect the service life of panel furniture. However, the service life of sheet furniture can be very long in a better environment. The reason why people think that custom-made panel furniture is not durable is mainly because the processing technology of the early panel furniture is not mature and the quality of the raw materials of the panel is not good, which leads to the lack of quality assurance of some inferior custom furniture manufacturers. In recent years, many Chinese custom furniture companies have worked hard to eliminate backward production capacity and upgrade the technology of the custom panel industry, so that the quality and service life of Chinese-made custom cabinets will reach a new level. Therefore, unless it is for the purpose of collection, there is no need to worry about the service life of custom panel furniture manufactured in China. 4.The smell of the panel is not the same as formaldehyde, but is the smell of the panel harmful to the human body? The newly installed custom cabinet exudes an odor. Although the custom furniture company said that “the smell is the taste of the furniture wood itself”, “the smell does not mean that the formaldehyde exceeds the environmental standard”, but is the smell itself harmful to the human body? Formaldehyde itself is only irritating and has no odor. Therefore, custom furniture emits odor, which does not mean that formaldehyde exceeds environmental standards. If you want to find out if the odor itself is harmful to the human body, you must first understand the source of the odor. Since the furniture panel itself is made of a variety of woods, it has a natural taste of different woods, and some woods are quite rich in flavor. Therefore, when different flavors are mixed together, it may smell uncomfortable and even unacceptable to some people. But from a health point of view, whether it is the taste of eucalyptus or the taste of pine trees, although it is not good, they are not harmful to the human body, even if they are mixed together. 5. Does formaldehyde-free furniture panel really completely free of formaldehyde? Because people are highly sensitive to formaldehyde release, there is a kind of formaldehyde-free panel that is known to be a higher environmental grade. Is the so-called formaldehyde-free panel furniture really free of formaldehyde? Strictly speaking, formaldehyde-free panel should be called formaldehyde-free addition panel. This formaldehyde-free addition panel does not mean that the panel itself is completely free of formaldehyde, but means that no formaldehyde is added to the panel during the processing of the panel. Because the substrate of artificial board --- natural wood itself also contains trace amounts of formaldehyde (the difference in formaldehyde content of different woods), formaldehyde is not an absolute harmful substance, the body itself also contains trace amounts of formaldehyde. The adhesive used for ordinary panel is urea-formaldehyde resin glue. This glue itself is a combination of formaldehyde and urea, and therefore contains formaldehyde. The higher the environmental protection grade is, the lower the formaldehyde content in the glue would be used while manufacturing. 6. Which of the panel furniture and solid wood furniture is more environmentally friendly? Panel furniture and solid wood furniture, which one is more environmentally friendly? This seems to be an obvious answer, but is custom solid wood furniture really more environmentally friendly than custom panel furniture? The answer may not be! From the point of view of formaldehyde release alone, the environmental protection index of solid wood furniture is indeed higher than that of panel furniture, but the premise is that the solid wood furniture should use environmentally friendly paint, such as water-based paint. Because the paint itself also contains harmful substances such as V O C and formaldehyde. From the environmentally friendly concept of protecting the entire global environment, panel furniture is much more environmentally friendly than solid wood furniture. From the perspective of the effective use of wood resources, custom solid wood furniture has higher requirements on the specifications and dimensions of raw materials, and custom panel furniture is not only not required but can be used almost 100%, so custom panel furniture has a higher utilization and lower waste rate than custom solid wood home. That is, custom panel furniture will be more environmentally friendly than custom solid wood furniture. 7. Are there any effects on formaldehyde-removing products? Because of the fear of formaldehyde hazards, a variety of products that claim to remove formaldehyde and resist formaldehyde hazards have emerged. Are these products really useful and reliable? Currently the products claim to be able to remove formaldehyde have two working principles on the market: one is chemical reaction and the other is physical adsorption. The chemical reaction method, how effective it is, how long it will last, and whether it has secondary pollution. There is no relevant experimental data support yet. Up to now, this method can only eliminate formaldehyde on the surface of the panel. Considering that the release of formaldehyde is a long-term process, it only has a very limited overall effect. The physical adsorption method is theoretically effective, but its adsorption range is limited, and according to the current detection method, it is difficult to judge whether the formaldehyde is decomposed or released again after being adsorbed. Therefore, for the moment, it is the best choice to prevent indoor formaldehyde from exceeding environmental standards by selecting custom furniture products with high environmental protection standards, strengthening ventilation and air purifiers. 8.Which country in the world has the most authoritative environmental standards for panel furniture? We always think one-sidedly that Western countries pay more attention to environmental protection issues, so the environmental protection standards of Western countries must be higher than the environmental standards of Southeast Asian countries. Is it ture? Every country has a different set of environmental standards for sheet furniture. Nowadays, the high requirements for environmental protection standards in China's custom furniture industry have not only been in line with international standards, but even surpassed international standards. At present, the panels on the market can be roughly classified into E 0 grade, E 1 grade and E 2 grade according to the amount of formaldehyde released. The E 0 grade is the current highest environmental protection grade standard. Around 2014, mainstream brands in China's custom furniture industry began to fully adopt upgraded E 0 grade plates. (Remarks: non-national standards, panels with formaldehyde emission not exceeding 0.5 mg/L are habitually called E 0 grade panel in China custom furniture industry. And in the trend of environmental protection, more and more Chinese custom furniture brands have followed suit; in addition, some custom furniture brands have also launched a formaldehyde-free aldehyde-free panel and ecological panel. We believe that the entire Chinese custom furniture industry is moving towards the environmental standards of Super E 0, driven by the mainstream Chinese furniture brands. As a leading Chinese custom furniture brand, Interi Furniture has always insisted that all products must be based on the business philosophy of focusing on the customer's experience and concern about the health of our customers. Therefore, we always regard the selection of high-quality raw materials and the use of environmentally friendly materials as the first place in our production.
